Vieux Télégraphe Rouge HK

The Vieux Télégraphe Rouge is one of the reference wines of the southern Rhône – a Châteauneuf-du-Pape that shows power and finesse in equal measure.

Vignobles Brunier has been cultivating the plateau of La Crau, one of the most coveted terroirs of the appellation, for generations. The large, round galets roulants – those characteristic pebbles – store the heat of Provence during the day and pass it on to the vine roots at night. The result: concentrated grapes with natural depth. The wine consists predominantly of Grenache, supplemented by Mourvèdre and Syrah.

In the glass, it shows dark ruby red. The nose brings ripe black cherries, blackberry, and garrigue – lavender, thyme, a hint of leather. On the palate, dense but well-integrated tannins, carried by a lively acidity structure. The finish is long, spicy, with a mineral note that reminds one of heated stone.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Best with braised rack of lamb with olives, a Daube Provençale, or aged Crottin de Chavignol.
