Les Carretals Gros-Tollot
A red wine from the Minervois that shows how deep the Languedoc-Roussillon can go – dark fruit, garrigue spice and a tannin structure that demands time.
Les Carretals Gros-Tollot comes from the Minervois, one of the most distinctive appellations in the Languedoc. With its dry climate, calcareous soils, and the salty Mistral wind, the region produces a red wine style that combines depth with Mediterranean wildness. The 2016 vintage is considered ripe and concentrated in the Languedoc – ideal for wines with aging potential.
In the glass, the wine displays aromas of dark cherry and red cranberry, underpinned by tea leaf, dried garrigue herbs, and a mineral note. The finish is long, with a firm tannin structure that softens with aeration or further aging.
