Les Carretals Gros-Tollot
A red wine from the Minervois that shows how deep the Languedoc-Roussillon can go – dark fruit, garrigue spice, and a tannin structure that demands time.
The Les Carretals Gros-Tollot comes from the Minervois, one of the most characterful appellations in the Languedoc. With its dry climate, calcareous soils, and the salty Mistral wind, the region shapes a red wine style that combines depth with Mediterranean wildness. The 2016 vintage is considered ripe and concentrated in the Languedoc – ideal for wines with aging potential.
In the glass, the wine shows aromas of dark cherry and red cranberry, underscored by tea leaf, dried herbs of the garrigue, and a mineral vein. The finish is long, with a grippy tannin structure that rounds out with some air or further aging.
