Le Cul de Beaujeu Sancerre Blanc

Le Cul de Beaujeu Sancerre Blanc
Sancerre from the limestone slopes — that's Sauvignon Blanc in its most concentrated form. The Le Cul de Beaujeu from Domaine Hubert Brochard comes from a single vineyard above Chavignol, where the Kimmeridgian limestone soil gives the wine its characteristic tension.
Brochard has been rooted in Sancerre for generations and cultivates vineyards around Chavignol — known for its Comté cheese production as well as its mineral white wines. The "Cul de Beaujeu" vineyard is one of the exposed slopes with old vines that yield low harvests and concentrated grapes.
In the glass, the wine displays ripe guava and passion fruit, underpinned by white peach and a hint of citrus zest. The acidity is present but integrated—not sharp, but rather a creamy texture with a long, slightly mineral finish. Powerful for a Sancerre, without sacrificing the typical Loire freshness.

In the heart of Sancerre – where the hills of the Loire sweep towards the horizon in sweeping lines – the Brochard family has been cultivating for generations what makes this appellation so distinctive: Sauvignon Blanc of mineral precision and Pinot Noir with velvety depth.
Hubert Brochard shaped the winery with a keen sense of terroir and craftsmanship. The wines tell the story of the flint and limestone beneath the vines – fresh, vibrant, unmistakably Loire.
