Sancerre Rouge

Sancerre is white wine country – and that's precisely what makes this Pinot Noir so interesting. Where Sauvignon Blanc dominates, Domaine Hubert Brochard demonstrates what the limestone and flint soils of the Loire can also achieve for red wine.

The Brochard winery is one of the established names in Sancerre and cultivates vineyards around Chavignol. On these mineral-rich soils, Pinot Noir produces wines with clear fruit and a cool structure – typical of the Loire climate with its long, slow ripening phases.

In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of cherry, raspberry, and a hint of strawberry – fresh and unpretentious. On the palate, it is light, with fine tannins and lively acidity that gives the wine its freshness and length. The finish is clean, with a subtle mineral note.

Best enjoyed young – the drinking window is within the next two to four years. Serving temperature: 14–16 °C. Pairs well with salmon trout, Loire goat cheese (Crottin de Chavignol is the classic combination), light pasta dishes with tomato sauce, or grilled chicken.
