Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Pinot Noir
Cherry, strawberry, raspberry – and underneath, an earthy undertone that gives the Pinot Noir its structure. The Vintner's Reserve is Kendall-Jackson's best-known red wine and demonstrates why the winery has been among California's best-selling wines for decades.
Kendall-Jackson was founded in 1982 by Jess Jackson in Sonoma County. The Vintner's Reserve line sources its grapes from several coastal vineyards in California—including Monterey and Santa Barbara—thus benefiting from the cool maritime climate, which preserves the Pinot Noir's characteristic fresh fruitiness. The wine is aged in oak barrels, which contribute vanilla notes and a gently toasted finish.
In the glass, it shines a deep garnet red. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry and strawberry, complemented by a hint of cola and mild spices – cinnamon and white pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins, an earthy undertone, and a pleasantly long finish with vanilla.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled salmon, duck breast with cherry sauce, or a hearty lentil stew. Also a solid choice as an uncomplicated evening wine on its own.
For over 40 years , Kendall-Jackson has been one of California's most recognizable faces in the glass. What began in 1982 with a clear conviction – to craft great wines from the best vineyards of the coastal region – is today a winery that understands sustainability not as a trend, but as a core principle.
The grapes grow along the Californian coast, where cool sea breezes and plenty of sunshine produce wines with freshness, depth, and a distinctive character. Whether it's the iconic Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay or lighter styles from the LIGHT Collection, at Kendall-Jackson you get wines that are honestly made and simply fun to drink.
