Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Zinfandel
Fully ripe berry fruit meets spicy depth – the Vintner's Reserve Zinfandel from Kendall-Jackson shows why this grape variety is at home in California.
Kendall-Jackson has been one of the most influential names in the California wine scene since the 1980s. The grapes for the Vintner's Reserve come from several select vineyards along the California Coast – from Mendocino to Santa Barbara. This blending across different appellations is deliberate: it ensures consistency in style and allows for a balanced cuvée each year from the best available parcels.
In the glass, it displays a dark ruby red color. The nose is dominated by plum and blackberry, accompanied by raspberry jam with a hint of cedar and baking spices – cinnamon and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with soft, rounded tannins and moderate acidity. The finish is long and fruity, with a slightly spicy note lingering on the aftertaste.
Serving suggestion: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pulled pork, BBQ ribs, burgers with strong cheese, or a black bean stew. Also a simple and enjoyable drink on its own after work. Ready to drink now, but will keep for another 2–3 years.
For over 40 years , Kendall-Jackson has been one of California's most recognizable faces in the glass. What began in 1982 with a clear conviction – to craft great wines from the best vineyards of the coastal region – is today a winery that understands sustainability not as a trend, but as a core principle.
The grapes grow along the Californian coast, where cool sea breezes and plenty of sunshine produce wines with freshness, depth, and a distinctive character. Whether it's the iconic Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay or lighter styles from the LIGHT Collection, at Kendall-Jackson you get wines that are honestly made and simply fun to drink.
