A single malt from Taiwan that combines the bourbon cask style with tropical fruit: Kavalan Ex-Bourbon Oak is the more powerful classic in the distillery's portfolio.

Aged in American first-fill bourbon casks, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 46% vol. The cask selection brings distinct vanilla and caramel notes, plus coconut and a warm oak structure. Taiwan's climate shapes the character: the tropical fruit remains present alongside the wood and keeps the whisky lively.

In the nose, powerful and clear; on the palate, round with vanilla, caramel, and ripe fruit. The finish is long, fruity, and woody. You enjoy it best neat at room temperature; a few drops of water open up additional fruit nuances. It also works well on ice or in a highball. A recommendation for everyone who likes the bourbon cask style and is looking for warmth and fruit from Taiwanese aging.
