Kaisermantel Sauvignon Blanc dry
Sauvignon Blanc with character: herbaceous, juicy and with a finish that lingers longer than expected.
Behind the name Kaisermantel is the Dr. Köhler winery — a producer who crafts their Sauvignon Blanc with a clear sense of style. Here, the grape variety reveals its green and aromatic side: not a pure tropical fruit experience, but depth through herbs and invigorating citrus.
On the nose, sage, ivy, and crushed currant leaves—the typical, slightly smoky aroma of the grape variety. Alongside this are pink grapefruit notes with their pleasant bitterness. On the palate, it's juicy and vibrant, with a denser body than one would expect from a Sauvignon Blanc. The herbal notes linger through to the finish, which remains complex and persistent.
Serving suggestion: Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with goat cheese, roasted asparagus with herb butter, baked fish, or a fresh tomato salad with basil. Also a good choice as an aperitif.
Dr. Köhler makes wines that reflect his own personality: down-to-earth, direct, and full of joie de vivre. This Rheinhessen winery stands for wines that don't pretend – wines that always show their origin and what they are.
The range follows a clear logic: bronze for the estate wines, silver for the village wines, gold for the single-vineyard wines – and a little color for the concept wines, which are simply meant to be fun. This way you always know what to expect.
