Jura Single Malt 18 Years

Eighteen years of maturation in ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak — and finally a finish in casks that previously held Grand Cru Bordeaux . This transition is what transforms the Jura 18 Years from a classic Highland style into something unique.

The distillery on the Hebridean island of Jura is one of the most remote in Scotland—an island where there are significantly more red deer than people. The whisky is traditionally mild and unpeated, allowing the wine cask finish to shine through without overpowering it.

In the glass, it displays ripe dark fruits—blackberry, blackcurrant—underpinned by dark chocolate and a hint of roasted coffee. The texture is soft and rounded; the 18 years of aging have smoothed any harsh edges. The finish is long, with a light tannin note reminiscent of the Bordeaux origin of the casks.

Drinking tip: Neat at room temperature or with a small stone to chill it – this brings out the fruit and chocolate flavors most clearly. A classic Old Fashioned with an orange zest twist also works well.
