Heartland Stickleback Red

Heartland Stickleback Red
Stickleback Red is Heartland's answer to a wine that simply works – uncomplicated, fruity, and suitable for everyday use.
Ben Glaetzer has made a name for himself in South Australia: His Heartland wines represent varietally typical character wines from Langhorne Creek and the Limestone Coast. The Stickleback Red is the most approachable wine from this estate – not a cellar experiment, but a wine for quick, uncomplicated enjoyment.
In the glass, it displays dark berry fruit – blackberry, blackcurrant – with a hint of plum. The body is soft, the tannins round and smooth, the finish short and juicy. Not a wine for contemplation, but for drinking.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at around 16–17 °C. Pairs well with pasta with tomato sauce, burgers, or grilled halloumi. Drink now – no need to store it.

Heartland Winery – a place where nature plays a part. Located directly on the shores of Lake Alexandria in Australia, a cool breeze causes a temperature drop of around 10 degrees Celsius every afternoon over two hours. The grapes ripen more slowly – gaining complexity, freshness, and elegance. Robert Parker calls Heartland wines "some of Australia's most distinctive and complex." Ben Glaetzer combines the power and fruit of old vines with surprising elegance and depth. Heartland – the wine with the best view of the rubber trees. You can taste it wherever you are. Pure Australia in a glass.
