Heartland Director's Cut Shiraz

A Shiraz that does not do things by halves: deep black in the glass, 14.5% ABV, with a density rarely found in this price range.

Heartland Wines operates on the Limestone Coast in southeastern Australia – a region known for its calcareous soils and maritime climate. Both are reflected in the Director's Cut: despite all its fullness, a structuring coolness is preserved, which prevents the wine from being clunky.

On the nose, cassis, dark blackberry, and dark chocolate, plus tobacco and a hint of mocha. On the palate, there is plenty of volume – concentrated fruit, velvety yet firmly integrated tannins, and a long-lasting texture. The finish carries spice and a slight hint of roasted aromas. James Halliday rated the wine with 94 points.

Heartland Wines

Heartland Winery – a place where nature plays a part. Located directly on the shores of Lake Alexandria in Australia, a cool breeze causes a temperature drop of around 10 degrees Celsius every afternoon over two hours. The grapes ripen more slowly – gaining complexity, freshness, and elegance. Robert Parker calls Heartland wines "some of Australia's most distinctive and complex." Ben Glaetzer combines the power and fruit of old vines with surprising elegance and depth. Heartland – the wine with the best view of the rubber trees. You can taste it wherever you are. Pure Australia in a glass.
