Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc
Hamilton Russell 's Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc is a precise, expressive white wine from the cool, maritime Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in Walker Bay – just 3 km from the cool South Atlantic Ocean, where the rare Southern Right whales come ashore each year. Grown on Table Mountain sandstone, clay-rich slate, and granite soils, the Sauvignon Blanc develops its distinctive minerality and fresh precision.
In the glass, it displays a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose opens with vibrant aromas of passion fruit, gooseberry, guava, citrus, and green fig , accompanied by delicate herbal notes, elderflower, and a hint of salty sea breeze. On the palate, it is racy, juicy, and invigoratingly fresh, with crisp acidity, an elegant smoothness, and a long, mineral-fruity finish.
100% Sauvignon Blanc , predominantly aged in stainless steel tanks, 13.5% ABV, served at 8–10°C . Ideal with fish, seafood, goat cheese, and fresh summer cuisine – a Sauvignon Blanc that masterfully blends Old and New World influences.
