Il Bruciato Bolgheri DOC Magnum

The Il Bruciato is the entry point into the world of Guado al Tasso — and it makes clear why Bolgheri is considered one of Italy's most exciting red wine destinations. In the magnum bottle, it matures more evenly and develops more depth than in the 0.75-l version.

Guado al Tasso belongs to the Antinori family, who have been producing wine for over 600 years. The estate is located in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC, directly behind the famous cypress avenue of Bolgheri. The climate — Mediterranean, with sea breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea — and the iron-rich soil give the wines here their typical structure and freshness.

The cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah shows blackberry and red cherry on the nose, underpinned by vanilla and a hint of clove. Juicy and medium-bodied on the palate, with soft tannins and a pleasant spice on the finish. Not a heavyweight — a wine that brings joy without being demanding.

Guado al Tasso

Super Tuscans – a style that changed the wine world. What began with Mario Incisa della Rocchetta's private Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard was perfected by his nephew Piero Antinori and oenologist Giacomo Tachis: the world-famous Sassicaia. Tignanello followed shortly after – Sangiovese without any white wine component. Because the laws only permitted it as "table wine," prices skyrocketed. Today, Sassicaia, Tignanello, Masseto, and Ornellaia are considered icons. What they have in common: structure, body, and a boldness of innovation.
