Vermentino Bolgheri DOC

Vermentino is the grape variety of the Tuscan coast — lively, aromatic, with a salty touch that reminds one of the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. Guado al Tasso brings exactly that into the bottle.

The winery belongs to the Antinori family and is located in Bolgheri, the coastal region that became famous primarily for its red wines. However, the white sandy soils and the Mediterranean climate also favor aromatic white wines with a fresh acid structure. The Vermentino is processed gently to preserve the natural fruit and floral aromatics of the grape variety — no wood aging, no over-processing.

In the glass, it shows a straw yellow with golden reflections. On the nose, citrus zest, elderflower, and a hint of white peach. On the palate, juicy with lively acidity, medium body, and a finish that fades with a subtle saltiness — typical for Vermentino from near the coast.

Guado al Tasso

Super Tuscans – a style that changed the wine world. What began with Mario Incisa della Rocchetta's private Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard was perfected by his nephew Piero Antinori and oenologist Giacomo Tachis: the world-famous Sassicaia. Tignanello followed shortly after – Sangiovese without any white wine component. Because the laws only permitted it as "table wine," prices skyrocketed. Today, Sassicaia, Tignanello, Masseto, and Ornellaia are considered icons. What they have in common: structure, body, and a boldness of innovation.
