Gran Muralles
A red wine with a history: The Grans Muralles from Familia Torres was born from the desire to bring back almost extinct Catalan grape varieties – and is today one of the most ambitious winery projects in Spain.
Since the 1980s, Torres has been cultivating the Garró and Querol varieties again in the DO Conca de Barberà , complemented by Cariñena, Garnacha, and Monastrell. The vineyards are situated around the Poblet Monastery, whose medieval walls give the wine its name. Deep slate and granite soils, and cool nights on the plateau—both fundamentally shape the wine's character.
After 18 months in new French oak barrels, it displays aromas of blueberry, dried flowers, and a hint of nutmeg. On the palate, it offers dense yet silky tannins, ripe red fruit, and a long, spicy finish with a touch of oak spice.
