Grande Réserve

Grande Réserve
Two grape varieties, one clear statement: The Grande Réserve from Weedenborn brings together Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay from the oldest and highest-altitude parcels of the winery – hand-selected, composed anew each vintage.
Weedenborn is located in Rheinhessen, on the wind-exposed ridge between Alzey and Worms. The winery works consistently site-oriented and has made a name for itself with precise, dry white wines. The Grande Réserve is the pinnacle of this work: only when Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay together deliver the quality does this cuvée emerge.
In the glass, the Chardonnay portion shows in texture and weight – creamy mouthfeel, ripe pear, a hint of hazelnut. The Sauvignon Blanc holds its own: fresh grapefruit, citrus peel, green herbs, and a lively acidity structure that carries the wine to the long, mineral finish. The assemblage results in more than the sum of its parts.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass with caper butter, goat cheese tart, or a risotto with lemon and herbs.
