Fil'e Ferru Acquavite di Vinacce 0.7L

Grappa with history: The name reminds of moonshiners in the former Kingdom of Italy who buried their brandy. Only an iron wire (filo di ferro) stuck out and revealed the hiding place. Classically neat as a digestif after a meal.

Fil'e Ferru Acquavite di Vinacce 0.7L

Fil'e Ferru is an Acquavite di Vinacce, a pomace brandy made from the pressing residues of winemaking, produced by Bresca Dorada on Sardinia. A grappa with history in its name.

The name goes back to moonshining in the former Kingdom of Italy. To avoid confiscation, the secretly distilled grappa was buried in bottles. An iron wire (filo di ferro) was attached to each bottle, which was the only thing sticking out of the ground. This is how it could be found again.

In the glass, you expect what defines a pomace brandy: the scent of grape skins and seeds, a clear, dry structure, and a warm, spicy finish. Serve it neat in a small tulip glass at 8 to 12 °C. It pairs classically after a meal, with an espresso, or on a social evening when you tell the story behind the iron wire.

Bresca Dorada

Bresca Dorada – a guarantee of quality since 1989 for the typical Mirto di Sardegna, that tart and fruity digestif.

In the southwest of Sardinia, at the foot of Mount Liuru, the company captures the intense scents of the island. Prickly pear, quince, wild fennel, rosemary – and citrus fruits from the area around Muravera. All natural.

Behind the company are Paolo Melis and Enrico Diana – and genuine, delicious craftsmanship.
