Feudo Arancio Grillo

Grillo is Sicily's true white wine star — aromatically expressive, yet fresh enough for hot summers. Feudo Arancio shows why.

The winery cultivates vineyards in Acate in southern Sicily, in the province of Ragusa. There, sandy soils and intense sunshine shape the character of the grapes: the berries ripen slowly, develop natural aromas, but retain a lively acidity.

A deep straw yellow in the glass. On the nose, ripe mango and papaya, along with floral hints—jasmine or white blossoms. Juicy on the palate, with a crisp acidity that keeps the wine lively and structures the finish. Not a heavy wine, but one with personality.

Three gold medals in 2019 — Mundus Vini, Berliner Wein Trophy and Sakura Women's Wine Awards — confirm the quality of the vintage.

Recommendation: Chill to 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, seafood with lemon, light pasta dishes with olive oil and herbs, or as a simple aperitif on the terrace.

Feudo Arancio

Feudo Arancio – the “orange farm” – was founded in 2001 by the Trentino cooperative Mezzacorona and today cultivates 700 hectares of vineyards on Sicily’s windy southern coast, divided between two estates in Sambuca di Sicilia and Acate. Behind the facade of a classic baglio, the traditional Sicilian country house, oenologist Matteo Covazzi works with state-of-the-art cellar technology. Sustainability is not just a buzzword here: in 2002, Feudo Arancio was the first Italian winery to receive EMAS certification for its entire production chain and stores rainwater in seven artificial lakes with a total capacity of 900,000 cubic meters. The result is honest, characterful Sicilian wines at a price that requires no second thought.
