Ferreira Dona Antónia 10 Years Old Tawny Port in a gift tin

A classic 10-year-old Tawny from the Ferreira house — one of the oldest and most traditional port wine houses in the Douro Valley, founded in 1751. The gift box makes it an easy-to-bring a gift or an introduction to the world of aged port wines.

Ferreira has been one of the premier wineries in the Douro for generations. The Dona Antónia line is named after Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the legendary 19th-century businesswoman who saved the estate from the phylloxera epidemic and expanded it. The 10 Year Old Tawny is a blend of several vintages, aged for an average of ten years in small oak barrels (pipas) – during which time the wine acquires its characteristic mahogany color and develops oxidative complexity.

In the glass, aromas of dried figs, walnut, and hazelnut emerge, along with cinnamon bark and a hint of orange peel. On the palate, it is silky with a delicate sweetness that fades to a drier, spicy-nutty finish. The texture is smooth, and the finish is medium-long.

  • Serving temperature: 12–14 °C, slightly chilled
  • Food pairings: Mature Manchego cheese, walnut pastries, crème brûlée, dark chocolate (65% or higher)
  • Occasion: Digestif after a meal, as an aperitif with nuts and dried fruit

Ferreira

Ferreira is a name that holds special significance in the world of port wine. This Douro Valley house stands for tradition that doesn't get in the way – but rather supports it. For generations, ports have been crafted here that showcase the unique character of this region: ripe, dark fruit, velvety warmth, and a depth that invites you to rediscover it time and again. Whether a classic Tawny with its notes of dried fruit and roasted almonds, or a robust Vintage – Ferreira makes port wine approachable without oversimplifying it. A glass of Ferreira isn't a grand ceremony. It's an honest moment – after a meal, with good company, or simply for yourself.
