Tellus Chardonnay Bianco Lazio IGP

A Chardonnay from Lazio that shows what central Italy is capable of beyond Sangiovese and Vermentino: mature, structured, with distinct character.

Falesco is the Cotarella family winery on Lake Bolsena – founded by Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella, two of Italy's most renowned winemakers. The Tellus Chardonnay is their entry into the world of international white wines from the Lazio IGP, vinified with a focus on fruit and freshness while maintaining substance.

In the glass, the wine shines a rich golden yellow. The nose offers ripe citrus fruit – orange zest, a touch of grapefruit – alongside hints of yellow apple and a subtle touch of cedar, suggesting brief oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a soft, creamy texture and enough freshness to avoid feeling heavy. The finish is lingering and slightly spicy.

Falesco

Behind Falesco stands one of Italy's most successful wine families: the brothers Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella. Founded in 1979, the winery has revived forgotten local grape varieties like Roscetto and combined them with international giants such as Merlot.

The breakthrough came in 1993 with the single-varietal Merlot Montiano – today an icon of Italian innovation. Wines are produced on approximately 370 hectares between Lazio and Umbria, skillfully combining tradition and modernity.

Whether it's the iconic Vitiano, the velvety Tellus Syrah, or the Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone: Every bottle tells a story of volcanic soils and a family that continues to shape the Italian wine world to this day.
