Behind Falesco stands one of Italy's most successful wine families: the brothers Riccardo and Renzo Cotarella. Founded in 1979, the winery has revived forgotten local grape varieties like Roscetto and combined them with international giants such as Merlot.

The breakthrough came in 1993 with the single-varietal Merlot Montiano – today an icon of Italian innovation. Wines are produced on approximately 370 hectares between Lazio and Umbria, skillfully combining tradition and modernity.

The breakthrough came in 1993 with Montiano, a single-varietal Merlot that demonstrated what central Italy beyond Tuscany is capable of: structure, velvety texture, and aging potential all in one. Since then, Falesco has consistently expanded its range—from the approachable Vitiano to the spicy Tellus Syrah and the historic Est! Est!! Est!!! di Montefiascone, an appellation that Falesco has revived from its slumber.
