Enkircher Steffensberg Riesling Kabinett feinherb

A Kabinett that shows what off-dry Riesling from the Mosel can do: no heavy sweetness, but a lively balance of juicy fruit, fine residual sweetness and cool minerality.

Villa Huesgen has been farming in Traben-Trarbach on the Middle Moselle for generations. The Steffensberg vineyard in Enkirch is one of the town's classic steep slopes, characterized by blue slate – the soil that gives Moselle Rieslings their characteristic salinity and geological depth.

Initially reserved on the nose: cool minerality, a hint of stone fruit that needs a little time to open up. On the palate, it's considerably more lively – a finely textured body, invigorating acidity, spicy stone fruit, and preserved mirabelle plum. This is complemented by a delicate herbal minerality and a salinity on the finish that makes the wine linger longer than the Kabinett label would suggest.

  • Aromas: Mirabelle plum, spicy stone fruit, salt, herbal minerality
  • Style: slim, fresh, slightly tart with a delicate residual sweetness
  • Temperature: 8–10 °C
  • Food: Asian cuisine with mild spice, steamed fish, goat cheese or as an aperitif

Villa Huesgen

Villa Huesgen embodies something that can still be truly felt on the Moselle: deep roots and a genuine passion for great Riesling. The Huesgen family has been making wine since 1735 – today in its eighth generation, led by Adolph Huesgen VIII.

At the heart of it all is the magnificent villa dating back to 1904, an Art Nouveau gem located right at the center of the vineyard. Here, history and the present merge into a philosophy that sees tradition not as a burden, but as a driving force. The wines are refined, modern, and unmistakably Moselle – made by happy people , as they say on the estate.
