Aristargos David and Nadia ltd
David & Nadia's Aristargos is an unusual cuvée from the Swartland — one of South Africa's most exciting white wine terroirs, far from the mainstream.
David Sadie and Nadia Barnard cultivate old bush vines in the Swartland region without irrigation. The vines struggle through nutrient-poor slate soils, resulting in concentrated grapes with pronounced minerality. Vinification is done by hand: spontaneous fermentation, gentle aging, and minimal intervention in the cellar.
In the glass, the Aristargos displays bright citrus fruit—grapefruit, bergamot—alongside spicy herbal notes and a distinct saline finish, typical of the granite soils of the Swartland. The body is dense, the acidity taut yet well-integrated. Not a heavy, opulent style—rather, vibrant, precise, with genuine depth.
