Dönnhoff Pinot Gris dry

A Pinot Gris that shows what the Nahe can do: dense and fermented dry, with an herbal spice that clearly distinguishes it from the broader Pinot style.

Dönnhoff is one of the most renowned wineries in the Nahe. The grapes for this Pinot Gris grow on the slopes of the Middle Nahe – volcanic weathered soil and loess loam provide the mineral basic tension that is clearly evident in the glass.

Fermented and aged for about six months in large German oak barrels. The wood provides melt and a subtle creaminess without covering up the variety. On the nose, ripe pear, quince, and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, powerful and dense, carried by lively acidity and a fine herbal spice on the finish.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with veal schnitzel with sage, fried sea bass, or a strong Allgäu mountain cheese. Ready to drink now.
