Dönnhoff Pinot Gris dry

A Pinot Gris that shows what the Nahe region is capable of: densely and dryly fermented, with a herbal spiciness that clearly distinguishes it from the broader Burgundy style.

Dönnhoff is one of the most renowned wineries in the Nahe region. The grapes for this Pinot Gris grow on the slopes of the Middle Nahe – volcanic weathered soil and loess loam provide the mineral tension that is clearly evident in the glass.

Fermented and aged for approximately six months in large German oak barrels. The wood imparts a smooth texture and subtle creaminess without masking the varietal character. The nose offers aromas of ripe pear, quince, and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, supported by lively acidity and a delicate herbal spiciness on the finish.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with veal schnitzel with sage, pan-fried sea bass, or a strong Allgäu mountain cheese. Ready to drink now, drinking window until approximately 2027.
