Cuvée Gols Reserve QW Burgenland 0.75L
From the Seewinkel around Gols, where Lake Neusiedl moderates the climate and the soils alternate between gravel and clay, comes this biodynamically produced cuvée from Paul Achs. The winery is one of the most well-known addresses in Burgenland — consistently focused on quality, and for decades a pioneer for Austrian red wines with international aspirations.
In the glass, the cuvée of Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt shows what Burgenland can do: dark cherry and blackberry, plus a typically spicy pepper note that is inherent to Blaufränkisch. The Zweigelt brings juiciness and accessibility, the Blaufränkisch the structure and the long, slightly spicy finish. The tannins are present but well-integrated — not an edgy wine, but a red wine with backbone and drinkability.
Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs with braised beef, game goulash, or mature mountain cheese. Also a reliable choice for hearty grilled cuisine.

Weingut Paul Achs from Gols in Burgenland works according to a simple but consistent conviction: Man does not shape the wine – the soil does.
The winery has been in family hands for generations. Paul Achs and his team rely on patience instead of control, on manual labor instead of technology. The vineyards around Gols – with their layers of limestone, loam and clay – provide the raw material. The winemaker listens. The result is wines with depth, finesse and genuine origin. Especially the Blaufränkisch Altenberg shows what this philosophy can do.
