Cuvée du Centenaire, Les Jacques

A cuvée that consciously breaks the mold in Beaujolais: Gamay meets Syrah, produced dry and with a character that oscillates between fruit and spice.

Château des Jacques is one of the well-known names in the region and celebrated its 100th anniversary with this special edition in a strictly limited quantity. The grapes come from the terroir of Rochegrès. The cuvée thus leaves the classic appellation boundaries and sets its own accent: Gamay stands for freshness and fruit, Syrah adds structure and dark spice.

In the glass, you can expect red and dark berries, plus peppery notes that are typical for Syrah. On the palate, the wine plays with the lively acidity of the Gamay and the stronger imprint of the Syrah. The result is a dry red wine with drive and substance.

We recommend it at 14 to 16 °C with duck breast, Coq au Vin, rillettes, or a cheese platter with Saint-Marcellin. It is also a good choice as a wine for a special evening when you want to bring something unusual from Beaujolais to the table.
