Comtes de Champagne Rosé

The Comtes de Champagne Rosé from Taittinger is one of the great prestige cuvées of Champagne — a single-varietal Chardonnay from the best vineyards of the Côte des Blancs, to which Taittinger has owed its reputation as the house of white Burgundy for decades.

In the glass, it glows in a delicate salmon pink with a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it shows wild strawberry and fresh red currant, which unfold into a complex aroma over time. On the palate, the acidity structure typical of Chardonnay carries the wine without stinging — a hint of bitterness in the finish provides length and tension.

Served at 8–10 °C, it pairs with salmon tartare, scallops with citrus butter, or a classic lobster bisque. Anyone drinking it neat as an aperitif should give it some time in the glass — the complexity needs a few minutes to show itself.
