Château Haut-Pontet St.-Émilion Grand Cru

Château Haut-Pontet St.-Émilion Grand Cru
A classic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from the appellation known for its Merlot-dominated wines with ripe fruit and a supple structure. Château Haut-Pontet is aimed at those seeking an approachable Bordeaux that is neither intimidating nor generic.
In the glass, it displays dark cherry and plum, underpinned by a hint of cedar and a subtle earthy note – typical of the limestone soils of the right bank. The tannins are ripe and firm without being dry; the acidity keeps the wine lively. Medium-long finish with a slightly spicy aftertaste.
Recommended serving temperature: 16–18 °C, open or decant one hour beforehand. Pairs well with braised lamb rump, entrecôte with herb butter, or a mature Cantal. Drinking window: now until approximately 2028.
