Château Beau-Séjour Bécot

Beau-Séjour Bécot is one of the great names of Saint-Émilion – a Premier Grand Cru Classé B with roots in the 17th century, now managed by the third generation of the Bécot family. The winery is located on the famous limestone plateau northwest of the village, where the vines reach deep into the rock and give the wine its characteristic mineral tension.

In the glass, it shows a typical Saint-Émilion with Merlot as the backbone: aromas of boysenberry, black raspberry, and baked plum, plus chocolate-covered cherry and a hint of lavender as well as dried herbs de Provence. Medium to full body, juicy fruit, firm but fine-grained tannins – well-structured, with a long, spicy finish.

• Temperature: 16–18 °C, preferably decant 30 minutes beforehand
• Food pairing: Leg of lamb with rosemary, braised beef cheek, mature Cantal or Ossau-Iraty
