The Bécot family has managed the estate since 1969. A bold expansion of the vineyards led to the brief loss of Premier Grand Cru status in 1985, but in 1996 the family triumphantly regained their place among the elite of the Bordeaux classification.

Château Beau-Séjour Bécot sits in the heart of the Saint-Émilion limestone plateau — named in 1787 by a general who simply called the estate "beautiful residence". The soil beneath the vines is unusual: fossils of starfish are embedded in the limestone, and it is precisely this mineral depth that continues to shape the wines to this day.

The estate has been owned by the Bécot family since 1969. A bold vineyard expansion temporarily cost them their Premier Grand Cru status in 1985—it was restored in 1996 after consistent work in the vineyard and cellar. This story exemplifies a winery that doesn't just manage quality, it earns it.
