Chablis, Le finage, La Chablisienne

Chablis, Le Finage, La Chablisienne is a dry white wine from the Chablis region in Burgundy, France, produced by the La Chablisienne wine cooperative. The wine is based on 100% Chardonnay and comes from various vineyards throughout the Chablis appellation, thus representing the typical character of the terroir particularly well.

In the glass, it displays a vibrant, bright straw yellow. The nose is fruity and fresh with delicate notes of lime, lemon, green apple, pear, and a hint of kumara or herbs, accompanied by a distinct, fine flint and mineral note originating from the Kimmeridgian limestone soils. On the palate, Le Finage is lively, juicy, and balanced, with clear but well-integrated acidity, rounded fruit, and a salty-mineral undertone that contributes to its clarity and drinkability.

The grapes can have an average vine age of around 20 years; fermentation and six months of aging take place predominantly in stainless steel tanks, partly on the fine lees, resulting in a fresh, early-drinking wine with a lovely texture. It is ideally served at 8–10 °C, and pairs well with seafood, grilled fish, oysters, light appetizers, or fish and chicken stews.

La Chablisienne

In 1923, 250 winegrowing families joined forces. This led to the creation of La Chablisienne , the most important winegrowers' cooperative in the Chablis region.

Today, the members cultivate over 1200 hectares of vineyards – about a quarter of the entire Chablis region. The only star here is Chardonnay .

The wines are crisp, mineral, and taste of citrus and white blossoms. A piece of living winemaking history that you simply must taste.
