Chablis 1er Cru, Vaulorent, La Chablisienne

The Vaulorent is one of the most renowned Premier Cru slopes in Chablis – located north of the Grand Cru block, on the same Kimmeridgian limestone from the Upper Jurassic that gives Chablis its unmistakable minerality.

La Chablisienne is the most important winegrowers' cooperative of the appellation, founded in 1923, today with around 300 members and over a quarter of the Chablis vineyard area. The Vaulorent is one of their flagship wines: hand-picked, carefully vinified, with a focus on purity and site potential instead of wood use.

In the glass, it shows yellow apple, white peach, and a fine exotic note – pineapple or ripe guava – which is typical for well-ripened Premier Cru sites from Chablis. Underneath lies the characteristic slate minerality: cool, salty, almost chalky. On the palate, powerful and clearly structured, with lively acidity and a long, deep finish that remains present for minutes after the sip.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs excellently with oysters and raw seafood, grilled sea bass, scallops with butter, or a mature Chèvre.

La Chablisienne

In 1923, 250 winegrowing families joined forces. This led to the creation of La Chablisienne , the most important winegrowers' cooperative in the Chablis region.

Today, the members cultivate over 1200 hectares of vineyards – about a quarter of the entire Chablis region. The only star here is Chardonnay .

The wines are crisp, mineral, and taste of citrus and white blossoms. A piece of living winemaking history that you simply must taste.
