Chablis 1er cru, Fourchaume, La Chablisienne

Fourchaume is considered one of the most accessible Premier Cru sites in Chablis – with more flesh and melt than many other sites, without giving up the typical Chablis minerality. This wine from La Chablisienne hits exactly that note.

La Chablisienne is a winegrowers' cooperative that has been cultivating about a quarter of the entire Chablis appellation since 1923 — including Grands and Premiers Crus in prime locations. The cooperative has been consistently working on quality over volume for years and is considered a reliable address for varietal, site-true Chablis.

In the glass, the Fourchaume shows light straw yellow with green reflections. On the nose, white flowers, honeysuckle, and ripe citrus notes — plus a mineral undertone reminiscent of limestone and damp slate. Silky and balanced on the palate: ripe pear, white peach, a clear line of acidity, and a long, floral finish with a salty aftertaste.

La Chablisienne

In 1923, 250 winegrowing families joined forces. This led to the creation of La Chablisienne , the most important winegrowers' cooperative in the Chablis region.

Today, the members cultivate over 1200 hectares of vineyards – about a quarter of the entire Chablis region. The only star here is Chardonnay .

The wines are crisp, mineral, and taste of citrus and white blossoms. A piece of living winemaking history that you simply must taste.
