Casa Rojo The Orange Republic”

An orange wine that does not hide its character: bold color, texture, and an aromatic profile unknown to classic white wines. The Orange Republic by Casa Rojo shows where the journey can lead when winemakers embrace skin contact as a stylistic tool.

Casa Rojo is a Spanish winery known for accessible, stylistically clear wines — without compromising on craftsmanship. The Orange Republic follows the method of amphora and skin-contact vinification: the grapes ferment with skins and seeds, which imparts tannins, color, and a depth to the wine that is otherwise reserved for red wines.

In the glass, it displays a bold amber-yellow. On the nose, dried apricot, quince paste, and a hint of ginger. On the palate, it is full-bodied with noticeable tannin that clearly distinguishes the wine from a classic white — accompanied by a fresh line of acidity that provides balance. The finish is long, slightly nutty, and spicy.

Best served at 14–16 °C. Pairs well with hearty dishes that would otherwise call for red wine: roasted chicken with a spice crust, lentil dishes with cumin, mature Manchego, or grilled vegetables with harissa.
