Campillo 57 Gran Reserva

The Campillo 57 Gran Reserva is a Rioja with a real backbone: dense fruit profile, long aging, classic structure — named after the year 1957, in which Julio Faustino Martínez took over the management of the group.

Bodegas Campillo lies in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, where calcareous soils and the continental climate of the Meseta provide the foundation for long-lived Tempranillo wines. Gran Reserva here means at least two years in oak barrels and three more in the cellar—a combination that translates into depth and maturity.

In the glass, it displays a rich ruby red color with garnet highlights. The nose offers ripe sour cherry and blackberry, enveloped in vanilla and dark chocolate from oak aging, along with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a finish that oscillates between cocoa bean and dried berries.

Bodegas Campillo

In the middle of a sea of vines rises a building like a French château. This is the dream of Julio Faustino Martínez, who brought the Bordeaux model to Rioja with Bodegas Campillo .

The heart of the estate consists of 50 hectares of vines planted with clay and limestone. Tempranillo, Graciano, and Viura grapes grow here. The grapes are harvested by hand.

Campillo wines are the foundation of the Faustino Group. Today, the estate is a major player in its own right in Spain's most famous wine region.
