This was intentional: Julio Faustino Martínez founded Bodegas Campillo with the clear goal of transferring the precision and rigor of the Bordeaux model to Spain's most famous wine region – own vineyards, controlled yields, and consistent hand-harvesting.

The heart of the estate comprises 50 hectares of clay and limestone soils surrounding the winery. Here, Tempranillo is the primary grape variety, complemented by Graciano and the white Viura. The soils impart structure and a cool minerality to the wines, combining classic Rioja fruit with depth. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand.
