Burrweiler Schäwer Riesling GG
The Burrweiler Schäwer stands for what Rebholz has been known for for decades: Riesling that does not hide its origin, but exhibits it.
The Ökonomierat Rebholz winery in Siebeldingen is one of the defining addresses of the southern Palatinate. Hansjörg Rebholz manages his vineyards biodynamically and consistently avoids herbicides. The Burrweiler Schäwer is one of the most renowned single vineyards in the region – red sandstone, deeply weathered, with a high quartz content. This results in Rieslings with distinct texture and long aging potential. The GG predicate (Großes Gewächs) stands for dry vinification at the highest level.
In the glass, the wine shows aromas of grapefruit, white peach, and mirabelle, underscored by a fine salt and herbal spice that seems to come directly from the sandstone. The acidity is precise and long, without sharpness – it gives the wine drive and freshness. The finish is mineral, dry, with a hint of bitter orange.
- Food: Fried zander, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, aged goat cheese
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
