Burrweiler Schäwer Riesling GG

Burrweiler Schäwer Riesling GG
The Burrweiler Schäwer stands for what Rebholz has been known for for decades: Riesling that doesn't hide its origin, but displays it.
The Ökonomierat Rebholz winery in Siebeldingen is one of the leading estates in the southern Palatinate. Hansjörg Rebholz cultivates his vineyards biodynamically and consistently avoids the use of herbicides. The Burrweiler Schäwer vineyard is one of the region's most prestigious single sites – red sandstone, deeply weathered, with a high quartz content. This soil produces Rieslings with a pronounced texture and excellent aging potential. The GG (Großes Gewächs) designation signifies dry winemaking of the highest quality.
In the glass, the wine reveals aromas of grapefruit, white peach, and mirabelle plum, underpinned by a delicate salt and herbal spiciness that seems to emanate directly from the sandstone. The acidity is precise and persistent, without any harshness – it lends the wine vibrancy and freshness. The finish is mineral and dry, with a hint of bitter orange.
