Chardonnay "R"

A Chardonnay with Burgundian ambition from the Palatinate: substantial, mineral, with the tension between fruit and acidity that sustains good white wines for years.

The Ökonomierat Rebholz winery in Siebeldingen is one of the most reliable wineries in the Palatinate region—and far beyond. Hansjörg Rebholz cultivates his vineyards at Birkweiler Kastanienbusch and Siebeldinger Im Sonnenschein according to biodynamic principles. In the Rebholz portfolio, the "R" stands for wines with exceptional aging potential: matured in oak barrels, with the aim of developing over several years.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays aromas of quince and ripe pear, along with spicy oak notes and a herbal, slightly mineral undertone. On the palate, it is full and nutty-yeasty without feeling heavy—a firm, saline acidity gives the wine backbone and length. The finish is long and mineral, with a lingering quality that invites another sip.

Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. Drinking window: 2026–2032. Pairs well with veal sweetbreads with morels, grilled lobster or a mature mountain cheese.
