Pinot Noir "R"
The Spätburgunder “R” from Ökonomierat Rebholz is one of the most impressive expressions of Burgundy from the Palatinate — for all those who are not looking for volume in red wine, but for depth and precision.
In the glass, it displays a remarkable aromatic complexity: Morello cherry, blackcurrant, and chocolate cherry form the fruit-driven foundation, embedded in delicate roasted notes, cocoa, vanilla, and rooibos . A slightly earthy, ethereal note lends it character and individuality—a hint of baked yeast cake rounds off the nose with an almost pastry-like warmth.
On the palate, it confirms what the nose promises: clear, delicately juicy, and with a firm backbone , yet never heavy. The tannins are velvety, the texture slightly melting and vanilla-like, a subtle sweetness emerges without ever being intrusive. The finish is long and increasingly rich in extract—chocolate cherry, cassis, and roasted notes linger for a while.
Drink it with braised beef, game dishes, or aged hard cheeses . Those who open it now will experience a youthful, vibrant wine with great potential—those who wait will also be rewarded.
