Bosco del Merlo Cabernet Sauvignon Selection IGP

Bosco del Merlo Cabernet Sauvignon Selection IGP
A Cabernet Sauvignon from Friuli that shows the grape variety from its more approachable side: less structural bulk, more drinkability.
Bosco del Merlo is located in the Piave DOC region of eastern Friuli, where the interplay of the Adriatic climate and the well-drained gravel soils of the Piave plain ensures consistent ripening. The winery cultivates its vineyards with a focus on varietal characteristics—the IGP status allows for more flexibility than a strict DOC classification.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers fresh blackberry, red currant, and a subtle herbal note—the typical Cabernet green that persists in the cooler Friulian vineyards. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins and lively acidity. The finish is dry and short, without bitterness.
