Biserno Toscana IGT

Biserno Toscana IGT
Biserno is the Grande Cuvée of Tenuta di Biserno — a Tuscan red wine that combines the cooling winds of the Maremma hills with Bordeaux craftsmanship.
The winery is located in the commune of Bibbona on the Tuscan coast and was founded by Lodovico Antinori. The terroir—sandy soils with clay inclusions, tempered by the sea breezes of the Tyrrhenian Sea—gives the vines an aromatic elegance that distinguishes them from the hotter inland vineyards. Cabernet Franc and Merlot form the backbone of the blend.
In the glass, the Biserno displays a rich, deep purple-red color. On the nose, Mediterranean herbs—rosemary, maquis shrubland, and a hint of dried alfalfa—mingle with sour cherry and black plum. With a little aeration, it opens up to vanilla, cocoa, and subtle toasty aromas from barrel aging. On the palate, well-balanced tannins, medium to full body, and a long, spicy finish.
Recommendation: Serve at 17–18 °C. Decant for at least 30 minutes. Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, leg of lamb with herbs, or mature Pecorino di Pienza.
