Amancaya

Amancaya
Two houses, one bottle: behind the Amancaya are the Rothschilds of Château Lafite and the Catena family from Mendoza — a partnership that has been producing red wines from Argentina under the Bodegas Caro label since 1999.
The vines grow in Mendoza, the heart of Argentine viticulture at over 900 meters altitude. The cuvée of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon ages for twelve months in barriques, mostly used wood — this gives structure without masking the fruit.
In the glass, the Amancaya shows dark blackberry compote, black currant, and a hint of cedar wood. The palate is dense and juicy, with soft, ripe tannins and a fresh line of acidity that carries the long finish.
- Food: grilled beef, leg of lamb with herb crust, aged Manchego
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
