Paul Jaboulet Aîné –
Rhône classic since 1834
Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the defining names of the Rhône Valley. Since its founding in 1834, the winery north of Valence has produced generations of winemakers – today, Caroline Frey, the eldest daughter of the owner family Frey, leads the house with a clear eye for quality and origin.
The classic varieties of the Rhône Valley grow on around 100 hectares of vineyards: Syrah and Grenache for the red wines, Marsanne, Viognier, and Grenache Blanc for the whites. The sites are located in the northern part of the valley, where the continental climate and granite soils give the wines structure and depth – Syrah shows itself here with dark fruit, pepper spice, and a long, mineral finish.
The wines of Jaboulet stand for a style that combines tradition and artisanal care: accessible in their youth, but with the potential to develop over years. Whether with a rack of lamb from Provence or a mature Comté – the Rhône cuvées from the house of Jaboulet suit the table and the occasion equally well.
