Mosel Riesling with a clear origin
Heymann-Löwenstein is one of the wineries on the Mosel that does not treat Riesling as a stylistic exercise, but as an expression of a very specific place. The sites are located in the Terrassenmosel section between Winningen and Kobern-Gondorf – steep slopes of Devonian slate that demand little comfort from the vines, but a lot of character. Reinhard Löwenstein and his team have been cultivating these slopes since the 1980s with an approach that prioritizes spontaneous fermentation, long yeast aging, and minimal intervention in the cellar.
What emerges are Rieslings with a depth that can rarely be so clearly attributed to an origin: slate minerality, precise acidity, a finish that lingers for a long time.
