Domaine de Chevalier —
Forest coolness and depth from the Graves

Domaine de Chevalier is not located on one of the well-known Bordeaux routes, but in the middle of the forest of Léognan — and that is exactly what makes the difference. The canopy keeps temperatures lower than elsewhere in the Bordelais, and the soils of sand, gravel, and clay give the wines a mineral austerity that is rarely found in this form anywhere else.

The estate is one of the few addresses in Graves that works at the highest level for both red and white wine. The white Chevalier — a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon — is considered one of the longest-lived dry white wines of Bordeaux: dense, but precise, with an aging potential that puts many Burgundies to shame. The red wines follow the same logic: no weight for the sake of weight, but structure that unfolds over years.

Those who want to get to know Bordeaux beyond the big Médoc names will find one of the most convincing addresses in the region here — with wines that reward patience and rarely disappoint when opened.
