Château Maucoil lies in the heart of the Rhône Valley in southern France – one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the country, renowned for centuries for its powerful, characterful wines. The château belongs to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, where stony soils, intense sunshine, and the infamous Mistral wind impart a distinctive depth to the grapes.

What emerges here are wines with true character: dense, warm, and yet surprisingly elegant. A glass of Maucoil tells you of the power of this landscape – and of what it means to make wine with respect for tradition.

About Château Maucoil

Château Maucoil –
Temperament from the heart of the Rhône Valley

Château Maucoil is located in the middle of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, where flat galet soils store the daytime heat and the Mistral keeps the grapes healthy. This combination of gravel, sun, and wind shapes wines that you recognize immediately: dense in body, warm in fruit, but never heavy.

The château's vineyards belong to one of the oldest wine-growing regions in France. Grenache forms the backbone of the cuvées – supplemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre, which give the wine structure and dark spice. In the cellar, the team works with respect for tradition: long maceration times, aging in large wooden barrels, no use of technology where patience is the better answer.

What ends up in the glass tastes of garrigue, ripe dark berries, and a hint of leather – wines that go well with a slow dinner with lamb or aged cheese, but also tell the story of what makes the southern Rhône Valley special on their own.
