Malescot Saint-Exupéry —
Troisième Grand Cru Classé from Margaux
Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry lies in the heart of Margaux , one of the most prestigious appellations of the Médoc. As a Troisième Grand Cru Classé since 1855, the estate is one of the historically established addresses of the Left Bank—a classification that remains valid to this day and reflects the estate's ambitions.
The vineyards stretch across the characteristic gravel and sandy soils of the Margaux commune, known for their exceptional drainage and heat retention. Cabernet Sauvignon forms the backbone of the blends, complemented by Merlot and smaller amounts of Petit Verdot. This results in wines with a firm tannin structure that, with increasing age, develop a silkiness typical of Margaux—blackberry, cedar, and a hint of violet.
In the cellar, the team works with precision: controlled temperatures during vinification, aging in French oak barrels. The wines pair well with braised lamb or aged hard cheeses and reach their full potential after several years of bottle aging.
