Cantina di Santadi – Sardinia as it should taste: wild, sun-drenched, and full of character. Since 1960, this winery has been producing wine in the southwest of the island, in the Sulcis region. Their pride and joy: Carignano. In this stark landscape between the sea and the white dunes, the grape variety reaches its full potential. The wines are surprising – powerful, elegant, with dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, and a salty freshness. Whether the legendary Terre Brune or the crisp Vermentino: the passion of generations of Sardinian winemakers is in every bottle.

Cantina di Santadi –
Sardinia's Sulcis in a bottle
Between barren maquis hills, white dunes, and the Mediterranean lies Santadi in the southwest of Sardinia – and with it one of the most defining cooperatives on the island. Since 1960, the Cantina di Santadi has bundled the knowledge of Sardinian winemaking families from the Sulcis region, a landscape that forces vines to root deeply and yield concentrated fruit.
The centerpiece is the Carignano del Sulcis: a grape variety often underestimated elsewhere, but which finds true depth here on old, bush-trained vines. Dark berry fruit, Mediterranean herbs, a salty echo from the nearby sea – this is the style for which Santadi is known. The Terre Brune, aged for a long time in barriques, is considered one of the reference wines of Sardinia. In addition, the Vermentino di Sardegna shows how fresh and mineral the island can also be in white.
The winery works closely with its members, consistently controlling yields and harvest times – the result is wines that do not claim origin, but make it tasteable.
