In the far southwest of Sardinia, where sparse maquis shrubland meets white dunes and the Mediterranean Sea, lies the home of Cantina di Santadi . Founded in 1960, this cooperative winery has since collaborated with winegrowing families who have known their vines in the Sulcis region for generations – a landscape that doesn't make winemaking easy, but certainly shapes it.

The focus is on Carignano del Sulcis: a grape variety considered a high-yielding variety elsewhere, but here, on old bush vines and sandy soil, it develops into something truly unique. Dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, a salty freshness on the finish – this is no accident, but the result of terroir and craftsmanship. The Terre Brune, the winery's flagship red wine, matures for an extended period in oak and demonstrates what Carignano is capable of when given time.
